Celebrating Queer Authors

It’s Pride Month in many places around the world and I thought that I’d share a few Queer authors that I recommend.

Some of these folks I have read their books, other folks I follow on You-Tube or TikTok.

Yvonne Aburrow

I haven’t read a lot of Yvonne’s books, but I enjoy their Youtube. You can find their books listed on Goodreads. Included in their books is a book of Inner Work called “Dark Mirror”. You can find them at their website Dowsing for Divinity

Morgan Daimler

Morgan Daimler is another amazing person and a fabulous source on Irish Fairy Witchcraft and more! Morgan is also a fiction author! Check out their Goodreads author page and their YouTube page.

T. Thorn Coyle.

I’ve loved Thorn’s Fiction books as well as their non-fiction books. If you’re intrigued by Feri and traditional witchcraft, check their books out! Their website is www.thorncoyle.com and you can find them on Youtube too.

Misha Magdalene.

Misha is the author of “Outside the Charmed Circle: exploring gender and sexuality in magical practice” and is generally an amazing person. Check out their book to find out how Queerness has been part of paganism and Witchcraft for a long time. https://www.llewellyn.com/product.php?ean=9780738761329. Pagans in Film

One of the wonderful things about the internet and the modern digital media age is how easy it is to create and share works of art!

Here’s some details on just two of the upcoming movies that I’m following.  You can find out more about each project by clicking on the images.

Dahm the Bard and a group of young, and not-so-young, people are taking the “Spirit of Albion” play from the Archway Theatre Young Adults Workshop and adapting it to the screen!

Their project is nearing completion and I’m looking forward to seeing it completed.

Esther, Annie and George are 3  people whose lives have reached a crisis point. On the night of 31st October, all three find themselves drawn to a clearing in the woods. Secrets are revealed and nothing will ever be the same again as an ancient power emerges from the shadows…

Starhawk also has a number of movies available, including a new upcoming movie called “The Fifth Sacred Thing” that was funded with a kickstarter project!

The movie is an adaptation of Starhawk’s novel by the same name.  The novel is an epic tale of freedom and slavery, love and war, and the potential futures of humankind tells of a twenty-first century California clan caught between two clashing worlds, one based on tolerance, the other on repression.

Dahm the Bard

Recently I’ve discovered Dahm the Bard.  He’s a folk artist that does a lot of pagan related music.  His tunes are very catchy and I find that I sing and hum along with the music (even when I’m listening at work!)

Here’s one of his pieces from YouTube called “The Winter King”
